{"id":37,"date":"2011-05-30T15:43:53","date_gmt":"2011-05-30T15:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8080\/?p=37"},"modified":"2020-11-25T18:21:07","modified_gmt":"2020-11-25T18:21:07","slug":"university-of-namur-main-web-server","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ipv6council.be\/?p=37","title":{"rendered":"University of Namur main web server"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m the network team leader of the University of Namur.<\/p>\n<p>Our IpV6 configuration is rather simple.<br \/>\nThe goal, for the world IPv6 day,  was to give IpV6 access to<br \/>\nour main website, namely <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fundp.ac.be\">www.fundp.ac.be<\/a>.<br \/>\nAs our perimeter firewall does not support yet IPv6 in router mode,<br \/>\nwe deployed a &#8220;IPv6 only&#8221; LAN aside, as we didn&#8217;t want to &#8220;bypass&#8221; the firewall.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, we are advertising a &#8220;quad A&#8221; record for <a href=\"http:\/\/ipv6.fundp.ac.be\">ipv6.fundp.ac.be<\/a><br \/>\nthat will become soon the record for &#8220;www.fundp.ac.be&#8221;. It points<br \/>\ntowards a reverse proxy server.<\/p>\n<p>We will also install soon an IPv6 version of BIND (the name server).<\/p>\n<p>Because of our rather limited human resources these are very basic steps.<br \/>\nWe hope to go further in the following months:<\/p>\n<p>1) Define a v6 address scheme <\/p>\n<p>2) Install the new version of the firewall, which hopefully support IPv6<br \/>\nin routing mode.<\/p>\n<p>3) Experiment v6 routing on some selected pilot subnets of our academic LAN<\/p>\n<p>4) Configure more servers in &#8220;dual stack&#8221; mode.<\/p>\n<p>Hope this was of any interest !
