{"id":29,"date":"2010-10-13T08:45:00","date_gmt":"2010-10-13T08:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8080\/?p=29"},"modified":"2020-11-25T18:21:08","modified_gmt":"2020-11-25T18:21:08","slug":"university-of-liege-fr-universite-de-liege","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ipv6council.be\/?p=29","title":{"rendered":"<multi>University of Li\u00e8ge [fr] Universit\u00e9 de Li\u00e8ge<\/multi>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m network team leader at University of Liege, and Eric Vyncke<br \/>\nencouraged me to drop you a line on our IPv6 deployment status.<br \/>\n<strong>I hope to read from your own IPv6 deployments in order to compare our<br \/>\nexperiences and help each other advance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve been running IPv6 for a few years on the IT staff IP range, and<br \/>\nfor the local network research unit (understand network &#8220;academics&#8221;),<br \/>\nwith a native v6 default route to internet thanks to Belnet, our ISP. We<br \/>\nalso host a v6 DNS server since a couple of years.<\/p>\n<p>More recently, we provided IPv6 connectivity on our wireless networks,<br \/>\nall over the campus.<br \/>\nEvery user of our &#8220;eduroam&#8221; and &#8220;ULg-Secure&#8221; SSID are now granted a v6<br \/>\naddress as well as the classic v4.<br \/>\nSome students associations (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aees.be\/\">AEES<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhitec.com\/\">N-HiTec<\/a>) also asked for a v6 connectivity, and so we<br \/>\nprovided (keeping in mind our IPv6-dedicated firewall, preventing them<br \/>\nfrom wrecking havoc from their newly acquired v6 powerstation ! \ud83d\ude09 ).<\/p>\n<p>Next step is more than probably having some servers running an IPv6<br \/>\naddress.
